Abu Kansangbata, a former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister has donated building materials to the Wa West District Director of Health following the burning of her house.
“Today, I had the opportunity to extend a helping hand to the District Health Director of Wa West, whose home and vehicle were tragically destroyed in a fire,” he said.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Friday, Kansangbata said “As a former Deputy Minister, I felt compelled to support her in this difficult time.”
The items donated were 15 bags of cement, two trips of sand, two packets of roofing sheets, and an undisclosed amount to aid in rebuilding her home.
“Together, we stand in solidarity to support those who dedicate their lives to serving our communities,” he added.
He said having worked with her as a former Deputy Regional Minister and District Chief Executive of the the then Nadowli District, it was only fair for him to lend a hand of support.
Receiving the items, Mrs Cecilia Kakraba, the Wa West District Director of Health, expressed appreciation for the support.
She said the incident happened, she had received words of consolation from so many people and gave the assurance that with more support from the community, they would rise again.
