Aburi market gets 10-seater water-closet toilet facility

Aburi (E/R), Sept. 22, GNA - Nana Apeadu Bediako II, Sanaahene of Aburi Anaafoo, on Wednesday inaugurated a 10-seater water-closet place of convenience at Aburi market, at the cost of GH¢28,000. Nana Bediako told the Ghana News Agency at Aburi in the Akuapem South Municipality, that the project formed part of the five-year development plan drawn by the Aburi Sanitation Project Committee to give the town a facelift.

Nana Bediako, a project advisor called on the chiefs in the beneficiary communities to release lands for the project. The project co-ordinators; Mr Yaw Adu Boahene and Mr Frank Oduro Bekoe, said the beneficiary communities would also be offered boreholes and other facilities to check outbreak of diseases. The beneficiary localities, which comprise Domebra, Atwasin, Asuafum and Jamekaso, would co-finance the project through dues, while Parry and Co, a non-governmental organisation has also pledged financial assistance.

Obaa Akua Nyardu, Executive Member of the committee called on citizens of Aburi who are residing outside the area to support the project either in cash or in kind. She expressed appreciation to Nana Otoobour Djankwasi II, Omanhene of Aburi for releasing land for the first phase of the project. 22 Sept. 10
