Agona Swedru, Sept 18, GNA - The Accra East District branch of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) in collaboration with the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) have presented items worth 30 million cedis to the Agona Swedru Government Hospital. The items included 10 mattresses; two wheel chairs, bread, fruits; toilet soaps and used clothing.
Speaking at the after the presentation, Mr Asante Mensah, Country Director of ADRA Ghana, said the Church donated the items for the up-keep of the patients.
He said donation formed part of the five-day camp meeting of the Church at Agona Swedru under the theme, "United in witness of truth. The meeting brought together over 1000 members from 14 branches of the Churches in the District.
Mr Asante-Mensah stated that ADRA had embarked on more development projects nation-wide to promote the socio-economic advancement of the people.
Mrs Joyce Bortey, Coordinator of the Women Ministry, called for cooperation between the Church and state institutions to enhance development.
Mrs Doris Boadu, Senior Nursing Officer of the hospital, who received the items, thanked the SDA and ADRA Ghana for their kind gesture. She promised that the authorities of the hospital would take care of the items especially the wheel chairs and mattresses to serve the purpose they were meant for.
