Accra Is Clean ?Shiekh Quaye

... because deputy speaker of Gambia said so
The AMA may have conceded that the capital needed cleaning but the region minister from whose office the AMA derives authority does not disagree with.

In a clear departure from the AMA chief executive?s admittance that Accra is dirty, Shiekh I.C.Quaye told Parliament?s appointment Committee that the capital was clean.

The Shiekh, who was being vetted to retain his post used a complement he supposedly received from a visiting diplomat to support his argument.

He said reports in the media that Accra is engulfed in filth are exaggerations because the whole ceremonial streets of Accra are clean.

? Quite recently a deputy speaker of Gambia came to parliament and showed praises on Accra that Accra is clean and a first class city?, he said.

He said an excursion through Accra will indicate there are no more heaps and mountains of garbage but admitted that what could be found is an overfull containers, ?we are doing the best we can and I work in conjunction with the AMA and whatever goes on I am attached to?.
