Adamorobe (E/R), Oct. 27, GNA - The chiefs and people of Adamorobe near Aburi in the Akwapim South Municipality, on Tuesday launched a four-year development plan aimed at revamping the self-help spirit to improve on the living condition of the town.
As part of the development plan, the people are to raise GH¢500,000 to kick start the first phase of the project, which includes the construction of a clinic, boreholes and educational facilities. Mr Joseph Okyere, aspiring Assembly Member of the area, who launched the plan said other projects targeted are the provision of boreholes, a rural bank and the construction of a bridge over river Kyiribra and Ashong Yaw, to enable farmers to transport their produce to marketing centres.
He said every man is expected to be levied GH¢50.00 and GH¢20.00 a woman, while non-residents would pay GH¢60.00. Mr Okyere appealed to the Municipal Assembly and the Department of Feeder Roads to rehabilitate the 10- kilometre road linking Aburi to Oyibi to make it accessible for goods and services.
