Africans must adopt proactive measures in tackling cyber threats - Rev. Okosun

The Reverend Kennedy Okosun, Executive Chairman of KRIF Ghana Limited, has admonished African governments to adopt proactive measures in tackling cyber threats.

He has, therefore, announced KRIF Ghana Limited’s ambitious goal to harness the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing cutting-edge security solutions to help fight cyber threats on the continent, stressing that this innovative approach aims to prevent evasive threats in the cybersecurity landscape.

He emphasized KRIF Ghana Limited's commitment to staying ahead of the curve by leveraging AI technology.

Rev. Okosun spoke with newsmen on the sidelines of a Krif Ghana Limited Thanksgiving Church Service, which was held at Action Worship Center (Action Chapel International Judea Temple) in Dansoman on Sunday, which was contained in a document obtained by the Communication for Development and Advocacy (CDA Consult), which is a development communication advocacy non-governmental organisation based in Tema, Ghana, has revealed.

The Thanksgiving service was attended by Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) who recently participated in the Radware Cybersecurity Conference in Nairobi, Kenya.

KRIF Ghana Limited selected eleven CISOs from corporate institutions in Ghana and one from Nigeria who attended this year’s cybersecurity conference in Kenya.

The event brought together cybersecurity experts and IT professionals in the technology space across the world to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and advancements in cybersecurity.

It provided insights and strategies to help organisations strengthen their cybersecurity posture to drive socio-economic growth in their respective countries.

Rev. Okosun noted that the CISOs are poised to apply their enhanced knowledge and skills to develop AI-powered security solutions; “this move marks a significant milestone in KRIF Ghana Limited's mission to provide top-notch cybersecurity services in the region.”

He expressed gratitude to God Almighty for the opportunity to serve in the cybersecurity industry and also acknowledged the support of Bishop Nii Quaofio, Head Pastor of Action Worship Center (Action Chapel International Judea Temple) Dansoman Assembly, and the congregation, emphasizing the importance of faith and technology coming together to address cybersecurity challenges.

He said the application of AI in cybersecurity will enable KRIF Ghana Limited to detect and respond to threats more effectively, stressing that this innovative approach will help protect individuals, businesses, and organizations from the ever-evolving landscape of cyber threats.

“With our sights set on establishing a Cybersecurity Think Tank, KRIF Ghana Limited aims to consult for regional bodies and offer expert solutions.

“As the cybersecurity landscape continues to evolve, KRIF Ghana Limited remains committed to staying at the forefront of innovation by harnessing the power of AI. They aim to provide robust security solutions that prevent evasive threats and ensure a safer digital future for all,” Rev. Okosun stated.

The Radware CyberSec summit in Kenya was attended by IT professionals and cyber security experts who discussed the latest trends, challenges, and advancements in cybersecurity, providing insights and strategies to strengthen cybersecurity posture and drive socioeconomic growth.
