Agona West Assembly assists needy but brilliant students

The Agona West Municipal Assembly has presented a cheque of 8, 000 Ghana cedis to assist some Senior High School (SHS) brilliant but needy students in the area, to enable them to complete their education.

Mr. Charles Obeng-Inkoom, Agona West Parliamentary aspirant of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who presented the cheque at Agona Swedru, said the government under President John Dramani Mahama was committed to promoting SHS and tertiary education in Ghana.

He said President Mahama would continue to ensure the equitable distribution of the national cake, and called on Ghanaians to vote massively for the NDC in December, to enable it to execute the second phase of the “Better Ghana Agenda”.

Mr. Obeng-Inkoom appealed to parents to invest in the education of their children, and cautioned students to desist from acts that could disturb their education.

Ms. Esi Crentsil, Convener of Education and Social Sub-committee of the Assembly, said the selection of the beneficiaries was not based on any political affiliation, ethnic or religious consideration.
