Ahamansu hit by rainstorm

Ahamansu (V/R) April 24, (Credit Baba Sadiq Adams, stringer no. 341) GNA- A severe rainstorm last Thursday hit Ahamansu in the Volta Region, ripping off roofs of schools, homes and mosques and destroying personal effects of some people. Nana Ofori Kumah II, Adontehene of the Ahamansu Traditional Area, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that 12 houses, the Islamic Senior High School, the Mosque and a kindergarten had their roofs ripped off and affected persons were putting up with friends and relatives. He said the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) had taken note of the disaster and appealed to NADMO to assist in rehabilitating the affected persons. Mr Peter Kwadwo Osei, Headmaster of the Islamic School, said the roofs of the classroom block and office were blown off and textbooks and 15 computers destroyed. He appealed to individuals, organisations and government to donate cement, roofing sheets and wood to the school for the rehabilitation of the school.
