Employees of Airtel Ghana in commemorating the achievements of women worldwide interacted with Yawa Hansen-Quao, founder of the Leading Women’s Network and Global Mentor at the Ivan Allen College Women’s Entrepreneurship Institute at the Georgia Tech University to mark the end of the month long Airtel Talk Series under the theme “Winning with Women”.
The talk series was instituted by the Smartphone Network to celebrate and encourage women everywhere to break barriers and succeed in all fields of endeavours. Throughout the month of March, the telecom giant hosted highly established and accomplished women across different professional backgrounds to share their experiences with “Airtel women” and employees.
Hannah Agbozo, Legal and Corporate Affairs Director in her submission at the event said “We are climaxing our month long engagement session driven by our female employees to celebrate the achievement of women globally.
We have had truly exciting sessions with all our accomplished guests and they have all challenged us to keep raising the bar as we pursue our dreams and life aspirations”. On behalf of all the employees of Airtel Ghana, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Yawa and all the other guest speakers who participated in this year’s Airtel Talk series”.
She continued “At Airtel Ghana, we believe in empowering and providing the platform for our female employees to thrive not only in their careers but their lives outside of work. Opportunities such as this regular talk series and the various clubs and learning platforms we provide go a long way to support their growth and development and enabling them to fully realize their potentials.
We go beyond our employees to empower women entrepreneurs in Ghana who are passionate about making a change in their lives and communities through our annual Catapult your Business competition – an initiative that recognises and celebrates young women running Start-ups in Ghana. We are excited that some of the young entrepreneurs we have celebrated through this competition have been empowered to win other competitions at the global stage”.
Yawa Hansen-Quao, founder of the Leading Women’s Network delivered a remarkable talk on ‘being strategic’ She challenged participating employees to develop a strategy for all aspects of their lives and proposed four thematic areas to guide the delivery such strategies.
The Airtel Talk Series is an initiative developed to empower women to fully realize their potentials.
