Akim-Sekyere (E/R), Aug. 18, GNA- The Akim Sekeyere Youth Association (ASYA) was inaugurated on Monday to assist the people in undertaking development projects in the town in the Atiwa District of the Eastern Region.
The association had Mr Kofi Baffour as president, Mr Kwame Asamoah, vice-president, Mr Richard Kissi, secretary and Malam Shaibu, assistant secretary.
The secretary, Mr Kissi announced that the association would mobilize the youth to undertake various development projects, and form a watchdog committee to protect life and property. He said the association would also engage in HIV/AIDS campaign to prevent the spread of the disease.
Mr Kissi said the association had already mobilized its members towards the construction of a 450-million-cedi six-classroom block, a library, headteacher's office and staff common room, funded from the MP's Common Fund.
He said the group was also undertaking the laying of a pipeline for 30 standing pipes for the community.
