About 245 signatories are calling for the intervention of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, in the determination of destoolment charges against the Akrodiehene, Nana Yiadom Boakye Asiamah.
This is in spite of recommendations by two judicial committees which sat on the case and gave verdict in favour of the chief.
They would want the Asantehene personally to sit on the case to ensure justice for peace and tranquility to prevail at Akrodie in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The youth have frowned on the manner the seven-year-old Akrodie chieftaincy dispute was handled by the Judicial Coomittee of the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs.
According to a petition addressed to the Asantehene, the Standing Committee headed by Nana Osei Bonsu II shielded the Akrodiehene by covering up the truth of the matter.
They claim all charges levelled against Nana Asiamah were "true and indefensible."
The petitioners endorsed the rejection of the findings and recommendation of the two named committees by the elders and kingmakers and called for the early intervention of the Asantehene.
It is on record that the elders and kingmakers of Akrodie were on October 15, this year subjected to humiliation, abuses and threats by the Nana Osei Bonsu Standing Committee, which gave a ruling in favour of the Akrodiehene.
Nana Yiadom Boakye Asiamah, known as Bishop Paul Asiamah, alias Abednago, founder and leader of the Abednago Incarnation Church at Pankronu, near Kumasi, was installed chief of Akrodie in 1994.
One year after his installation, a dispute arose following which destoolment charges were pressed against him. For seven years now the chief has not set foot on the soil of Akrodie.
It is on the basis of this that the youth of Akrodie per the said petition dated November 17, is calling for the Asantehene's intervention to establish the truth or otherwise of the destoolment charges against the "absentee" chief to pave way for proper development of the town.
