Amansie West health insurance scheme inaugurated

Manso-Nkwanta (Ash), Nov. 23, GNA - A 13-member interim board of directors of Amansie West District Health Insurance Scheme has been inaugurated at Manso-Nkwanta.

The board has Nana Opiah Mensah as its chairman.

Speaking at the inauguration, the District Chief Executive, Mr. Ben Kwakye-Adeefe, said the district assembly has between last year and this year committed an amount of 35 million cedis to support the implementation of the scheme to reach all parts of the district. Mr Kwakye-Adeefe said the assembly would continue to support the scheme either in cash or in kind as it has always done.

The District Medical Officer of the Saint Martin's Catholic Hospital at Agroyesum, Dr. Arthur Boateng appealed to board members to exercise high sense of commitment and work hard to ensure that the intended objective of the government for which it established the scheme becomes a reality.

Mr. Oscar Asare Andoh, the Scheme Manager, briefed the members on the status of implementation of the scheme in the district and pledged that the management team would work hard to make the scheme achieve its success.

Mr Andoh appealed to the people in the district to embrace the scheme by contributing their premium for affordable health care. Nana Opiah Mensah, who is also the Werenpehene of Manso-Mem, on behalf of the board pledged to work tirelessly for the scheme to take off in the district.
