The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary aspirant for the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Mike Oquaye Jr., made a significant cash donation to Kwabenya Community Day Senior High School (SHS) on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.

This contribution aims to support extra classes for the school's final-year students as they prepare for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). With 570 students benefiting from this initiative, Oquaye's generosity is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing their academic readiness.

The donation reflects Oquaye's commitment to education and the empowerment of youth in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency. Recognizing the challenges students face in preparing for crucial examinations, he emphasized the importance of providing adequate resources and support to ensure their success. "Investing in our youth is investing in the future of our community," Oquaye stated during his visit.

In addition to supporting the final year students, Michael Oquaye Jr. also addressed a pressing environmental issue affecting the school itself. In response, he made an additional donation to the same school to address the challenge of a refuse dump close to the school canteen and to relocate the canteen.

After the donations, he visited the site of the refuse dump located near the school’s canteen to assess the situation firsthand.

The dump has raised grave concerns among parents and teachers about health risks and hygiene.

During the visit, Oquaye Jnr. assured residents that plans were underway for the relocation of the refuse dump to a more suitable location, away from the school premises.

“This relocation is not just about cleaning up the area; it’s about creating a safe and conducive environment for our children to learn,” he remarked.

Oquaye's proactive approach in tackling local issues has resonated with the community, reinforcing his dedication to improving living conditions for residents in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency.

The combination of his educational support and commitment to environmental sustainability demonstrates his vision for a thriving, healthy community. As he campaigns for parliamentary representation, initiatives like these highlight his focus on practical solutions that address the needs of constituents.

With the WASSCE exams approaching, the students at Kwabenya Community Day SHS are set to benefit not only from enhanced academic support but also from a cleaner, safer environment—both crucial for their success.
