Trabuom (Ash), June 2, GNA- The Zeta Beta Sorority Incorporation, a New York-based Non-Governmental Organisation (N.G.O), in the US is putting up a-22-bed Infirmary for the Afua Kobi Ampem Girl Senior High School (S.H.S) at the cost of $80,000US dollars.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Trabuom in the Atwima Kwanwoma district on Saturday, Mr Yaw Kwakye, National Co-ordinator of the N.G.O said, the Organisation had already provided two mechanized boreholes worth over $6,000 US dollars to the school.
The boreholes, he said, were part of the 40 mechanized wells provided by the N.G.O in some selected communities in Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Eastern and Greater Accra regions over a period of five years. Mr Kwakye announced that, 15 brilliant but needy girls in the school have also been awarded full scholarships by the Organisation for their Senior High School education and each student, he said, received over GH¢360 annually.
He said, Miss Mary Singletary, an American and a member of the N.G.O has also assisted the school to cultivate a citrus plantation. Mr Kwakye said the Organisation has donated 5 computers and accessories to the school to promote Information and Communication Technology (I.C.T). The Co-ordinator said the N.G.O., which aims at giving hope to mankind has drawn up an elaborate programme to assist the needy in the developing countries.
