Nii Kojo Ashong III, the Chief of Amrahia in the Adenta Municipality, has commended President Akufo-Addo for his pivotal role in the release of the dairy farm lands that were acquired by the government but not used for the intended purpose. He also paid tribute to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for his significant role in the release of their lands.
Amrahia Mantse also expressed gratitude to some Ministers of State and chiefs in the Ga state for their positive impact on the release of the aforementioned lands. The government is said to have issued a white paper on the release of the land to its original owners. What is pending is for the government to remove the Executive Instrument on the said lands for the bona fide owners to have access to and use them.
Speaking at a news conference in Accra, Amrahia Mantse urged the Chief of Danfa, Ashrifi Mensah, and the rival Chief of Amrahia, William Ashrifi Mensah, to stop fomenting trouble and demonstrating in the area. He said the current environment of demonstrations in Ghana will not help the cause of the country's development.
As the country prepares for the December elections, Nii Kojo Ashong appealed to the youth not to engage in violence, tribal politics, or the use of guns to disturb the peace and socio-economic development of Ghana, which could erode economic gains made since independence.
Amrahia Mantse called for unity and peace among all political parties, their supporters, and the youth before, during, and after the presidential and parliamentary elections. This, he said, will attract foreign investment into the country, providing job opportunities for the youth.
