An early childhood centre inaugurated at Akara

Akara (UER), Aug. 05, GNA - A GH=A2 49,000 (490 million cedis) Early Childhood Development Centre at Akara, in the Garu-Tempane District in Upper East Region has been inaugurated. Mr Emmanuel Sin-nyet Asigri, Garu-Tempane District Chief Executive inaugurating the centre, called on parents to ensure their children attend school and properly equipped with the basic needs. He said Government had played its part with the provision of infrastructure and was the responsibility of parents to ensure their children attended classes regularly.

Mr Asigri said the centre was in line with Government's determination to ensure that deprived communities had access to quality education to improve their status.

He said with the technological advancement, knowledge was the deciding factor for any individual to aspire to attain higher levels in education and called on parents to take advantage of the education policies to send their children to school. Mr Asigri appealed to teachers to ensure effective teaching and learning for the pupils to enrich their potentials to contribute towards national development.

Mr Eugene Zongo-Naah Domah, Garu-Tempane District Director of Education, said establishment of the centre formed part of the new educational reforms.

He warned that the directorate would not countenance indiscipline by teachers to attain quality education delivery in the district. Mr Domah appealed to teachers to attend school regularly and ensure effective teaching and learning. GNA
