A mob numbering about 100, believed to of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stock have besieged the premises of the Kadjebi District Assembly in the Oti region and attacked staff of the Assembly.

The Ghana News Agency (GNA) sources disclosed that the ‘giant’ men, who attacked the Assembly staff were led by Mr. Ahmed Muniru (AKA Orinzo), NDC Parliamentary Candidate aspirant, who contested the primary in 2023, but lost to Mr. Yao Gomado, the MP for Akan.

The group alleged that their intelligence shows Mr. Wilson Kwami Agbanyo and Assembly staff were evacuating Assembly property and their action was to stop the suspected loot.

The swift intervention by the Ghana Police Service led by Superintendent (Supt) Frank Nana Asomaning, the Kadjebi District Commander and his team calmed down tempers.

He engaged the group and urged them to refrain from acts that could lead to mayhem and loss of life and later met the District Co-ordinating Director, Mr. Cletus Chevure to reach an understanding.

Police have maintained presence at the Assembly to protect state property.

The DCE’s Residence suffered a similar attack on Saturday.
