Residents of Adaklu Waya in the Adaklu District of the Volta Region on Monday, 21 May 2018, staged a demonstration against Fulani herdsmen and their activities in the area.
The Fulani are believed to be part of the group that was evicted from the Agogo area sometime last year following a security clamp down.
The Adaklu Waya residents are accusing the nomadic herdsmen of grazing their livestock on local farms.
They have also accused the police of being reluctant to prosecute Fulani suspects despite the mayhem they perpetrate.
Speaking to Class News, a Divisional Chief at Adaklu Way, Togbui Kuleke Amenuve, said: “Anytime they come, they bring machetes to the town and they can hurt people here and there. They are causing a lot of problems in the town.”
