Aseda Beauty Salon offers free training for apprentices

Aseda Beauty Salon, based in Takoradi, has for years offered free training for hundreds of youth in cosmetic and beauty treatment to enable them to become self-sustainable.

The apprentices undergo two-and-half years training in hairdressing, manicure and pedicure.

The Founder and Executive Director of the Salon, Madam Diana Adjei, told the media, during the graduation of 10 apprentices, in Takoradi, that her objective is to provide sustainable and employable skills for the youth live sound and moral lives.

In addition she provides free accommodation and admits both males and females into the Salon.

She indicated that after the duration of apprenticeship, examiners from the National Vocational Training Institute and issue certificates to the successful ones.

Madam Adjei stated that the apprentices are taught moral education which gives them good foundation for life.

The Executive Director said, she started admitting graduates from junior and senior high schools, as well as some polytechnic students and since 1998, it had trained hundreds of apprentices who are self-employed.

She appealed for support from government and corporate entities to expand the Salon.
