Breman Asikuma (C/R), Dec. 14, GNA - The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly exceeded its internally generated revenue target by 102.4 percent, Mr. Emmanuel Adjei Domson, District Chief Executive, said at the 3rd ordinary meeting of the assembly on Thursday. He said out of an estimated revenue of GH=A253,790.00, the assembly was able to collect GH=A255,070.04 as at the end of October. Mr Domson commended revenue staff and assembly members for their had work but cautioned that "we have the capacity to generate more revenue even though we have exceeded the target for this year". Mr. Domson said the assembly made an expenditure of GH=A260,858.06 as against the estimated amount of GH=A267,250.00, representing 90 per cent, "a clear indication that we are prudent in our spending". He said the assembly was undertaking a number of development projects to improve the living standard of the people in the areas of education, health, roads and agriculture.
Mr Domson said work on most of the project had come to a standstill because the donors are yet to release their remaining funds although the assembly had provided its counterpart funding. 14 Dec. 07
