Odoben(C/R) December20, GNA- The construction work on the 800 million-cedi recovery ward for the Odoben Health centre in the Asikuma-Odoben -Brakwa District is near completion.
The ward which has reached the roofing level will provide facilities such as male and female wards, consulting rooms, theatre, out patient department, stores, change rooms for both nurses and medical officers and children's ward.
Mr Kwaku Anaman the Medical Assistant in-charge of the Centre who was speaking to GNA after inspections said the ward which was expected to be completed early next year would help to address some of the health needs facing the Centre.
He said the Centre would be elavated to the polyclinic status soon after the facility was completed. He said the Centre would ensure quality health delivery services in the District. Mr. Anaman said the project was being financed through the M.P's common fund.
Mr. P.C. Appiah Ofori the M.P for the area said his support was part of his effort to assist to make health services affordable and reach the door steps of the ordinary Ghanaian.
He expressed satisfaction with the progress of work on the building and attributed that to the effective supervisory support given by the District Health Administrators and the Assembly.
He promised to construct two separate bungalows for medical officers and three quarters for the nurses.
