Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa awards students

Breman Asikuma (C/R), March 7, GNA - Five students from Senior and Junior High Schools in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa were on Friday honoured for their excellent performances in the 2006/07 Basic Education Certification Examination (BECE) and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination as part of activities marking the 51st Anniversary celebration of Ghana's Independence in the district. They were Master Albert Eshun, Master Kwame Quainoo, Master Amos Afransou Miss. Abigail Oporbosam and Miss Mary Mokula Edutafi. They scored between aggregates six and 19 in the examinations. Master Albert Eshun and Miss Abigail Oporbosam from the Pamo International Junior High, who had aggregate six, were adjudged the best students.

The MP for the area, Mr Paul Collins Appiah-Offori and Mr Emmanuel Adjei Doomson, DCE for the area, jointly presented the prizes. Mr Appiah Offori said he would sponsor any Senior High students who would obtain between aggregates six and eight to enter the university and appealed to the students to learn hard to enable them enjoy the scholarship. Ajumako Catholic Junior High School came first in special quiz competition organised as part of activities marking the anniversary, followed by the Ajumako Asesane District Assembly Junior High School while Ajumako GESDI Junior High came third.
