Asuansi Technical Institute asks for help

Asuansi (C/R), April 17, GNA- The authorities of Asuansi Technical Institute have appealed to the Ministry of Education to help improve facilities at the Institute.

Mr. Wilfred Albert Davidson, Principal of the Institute, who made the appeal on Saturday at Asuansi said the institute deserved a better deal than it is being offered.

The school, he said, established 83 years ago, lacks facilities such as a school vehicle, science laboratory, dormitory, dining hall and assembly hall.

Mr. Davidson said the only vehicle in the school was acquired about 20 years ago and breaks down during emergencies. He said the dining hall, constructed in 1960 could conveniently cater for 180 students and with the increase of student population to 400, there was the need to improve the facility to accommodate the students. The Institute currently runs Agriculture Mechanisation, Automotive Engineering, Furniture design work, Carpentry and Joinery and Electrical installation work.
