Dromankese (B/A), June 21, GNA - Mr Amoah Darko Bediako, Assembly Member for Dromankese-Nyinakofiase, in the Nkoranza North District, has advised the people to avoid indiscriminate disposal of refuse to avoid the outbreak of epidemics.
He asked them to clear weeds around their houses, bury empty tins and cover potholes filled with stagnant water to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes, which causes malaria.
Mr Bediako, who was addressing the maiden meeting with the people to plan development programmes, expressed concern about how some of them chose to dispose their refuse anywhere instead of the disposal site.
He said about 60 low-tension poles in the area are getting rotting and called on the District Assembly to replace them, since it poses great danger to the people.
The Assembly Member requested for 20 bulbs for the street lights in the area
Mr Bediako urged the people to actively participate in communal labour activities to attract support from the Government and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
He appealed to them to collaborate with the Unit Committee and advised parents to enroll their children of school-going age in school.
