Bolgatanga, May 22, GNA - The Bolgatanga, Nangodi, Bongo and Tongo (BONABOTO) union in the Upper East Region has denied allegations that it was influencing transfers from the region.
A statement signed by the regional executive of the union on Thursday denied allegations that it was against the transfer of an accountant of the Regional Hospital and making moves to stop it. "The perceived BONABOTO influence, be it a political clout or an overbearing pressure group, is exaggerated to our disadvantage. We are a development oriented association and so we will not like to be perceived as anti-establishment", the statement said. It mentioned two other transfers within the Ghana Health Services that the Union was supposed to have influenced and said there was no truth in those accusations.
"We soundly condemn the perpetrators of these malicious rumours and express our disgust at such tendencies from whatever quarter". It warned against impersonation and said any person detected pretending to represent BONABOTO would be exposed.
