Kwadwo Anokye Kankam, Convener of the Black's Progressive Party (BPP), has underscored the need for a restructuring of the country with a strong focus on agriculture as a key driver of economic growth.
According to him, agriculture is the only sector capable of transforming the nation's economy.
He emphasized that prioritizing agriculture and fishing will not only boost local production but also enable the country to export goods for foreign exchange, which in turn will enhance economic growth.
Kwadwo Anokye Kankam further advocated for the establishment of state-owned enterprises, fully funded by the government, to drive agricultural development.
He also stressed the importance of training more extension and veterinary officers to provide the necessary expertise to support state-led farming initiatives.
Additionally, he proposed collaboration with traditional leaders to allocate land for state farming projects, ensuring that both the nation and local communities benefit from the agricultural ventures.
Kankam also criticized the two major political parties in the country, stating that they have failed the nation.
He believes it is time for a new political party to lead the way in rebuilding and transforming the country, with a focus on innovative policies centered on agriculture.
