Baby, four others escape death

Five people including a one-year-old baby girl narrowly escaped death on Monday afternoon when a taxi they were traveling in somersaulted several times and landed upside down in a ditch at Ekon junction, near Cape Coast.

The driver and the passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, according to an eyewitness.

The baby girl escaped unhurt.

An eyewitness, Mr. Peter Brown, a tutor at the Oguaa Senior High Technical School located a few metres away from the scene, told the GNA that the taxi was heading towards Cape Coast from Yamoransa.

He said the driver lost control when he failed to apply his brakes in a sharp curve, resulting in the accident.
