Bastiat Society of Ghana rebrands

Bastiat Society of Ghana, a free market economic think tank has rebranded to Bastiat Ghana, in line with its mission of empowering small scale enterprises for development in Ghana and Africa as a whole.

Dr Tweneboah Senzu, Managing Director of Bastiat Ghana, who announced this in a statement issued in Accra on Friday said the Council and Fellowship members of the Institute does not want to be a passive brand to the elite but a body that seeks for new economic thinking and a system beneficial to the people.

A special research team was set up to identify challenges facing Ghanaian entrepreneurs and this led to redefining and structuring the objectives of the Institute to the benefit of members and the business community as a whole.

The statement said this would create projects and programmes that would lead to quality documentation to facilitate financial accessibility from both local and international funding agencies to the benefit of enterprise development in the country.

It said even though the judicial institution is striving to fast track business disputes to ensure economic development, there are delays in settling disputes and enforcing contracts in the law courts.

Bastiat Ghana said it would create a centre to offer opportunity for members to be exposed to Alternative Dispute Resolution concept as grounds of creating legal friendly environment for business growth and economic empowerment.

The statement said entrepreneurs would be empowered with pragmatic knowledge and skills needed in modern business economic environment through public lectures, intellectual debates and monthly meetings.

The main packages are all designed with the intention of the Institute to create alternative enabling environment for the growth of small scale enterprises into large scale enterprise in a smooth transition.
