The Minister of the Interior, Henry Quartey, has renewed the curfew hours imposed on the Bawku Municipality and its surrounding areas in the Upper East Region, through an Executive Instrument, 3news.com reports.

The revised curfew hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., starting Tuesday, August 13, 2024.

The report added that in a statement issued on the same day, the government urged chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents of the area to exercise restraint amid the challenges they are facing and to seek peaceful and non-violent ways to address their concerns.

Additionally, the government has imposed a total ban on the possession of arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons within the affected communities and their environs.
