Blacksmith appeals to IGP

Nana Agbede Aziato, 50, a blacksmith has appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the arrest of Sammy Norce, 38, unemployed, for allegedly taking his 13-year-old grandson to Lome, Togo for ritual.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Asuboi, Nana Agbede Aziato said on August 17, Sammy Norce, a relative, arrived from Sefwi-Dadeso around 1400hours to lodge with him and at around 0400 hours he heard him telling his grandson, Francis Aziato that he would travel with him to Lome.

Nana Aziato, who is based at Asuboi near Coaltar in the Ayansuono Constituency, said he confronted Norce who was indifferent to his concern and so he went to report the matter to the first the Unit Committee of the area.

He said on his return, his grandson and Norce were nowhere to be found and therefore a complaint was made to the Suhum Police.

Nana Aziato said he then traced Norce to a location at Lome where he found his grandson in comma in the room of a herbalist.

Nana Aziato said he returned with his grandson to Asuboi and reported the matter to the Suhum Police who effected the arrest of Norce.

He said Norce was put before a Suhum Magistrates Court but was acquitted and discharged.

Nana Aziato appealed to the Chief Justice to review the court ruling as his son Kwabena Agyaso has been missing since June 24, 2010 and suspects foul play.
