Boana JHS commended for 100% BECE achievement

Teachers of Boana District Assembly Junior High School have been commended for the School’s achievement of 100 percent pass in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

The school presented 23 candidates comprising nine boys and 14 girls, all of whom qualified for admission into the Senior High Schools (SHS).

An indigene of the town, Mr. Thomas Antwi made the commendation at a forum organized by the chiefs and people of the community on Friday to discuss issues relating to ‘streetism’ and other social vices by the youth in the town.

Mr. Antwi, an Examination Officer at the Techiman Municipal Education Directorate, stressed the need for parents and guardians to co-opertate with teachers to instill discipline in the schools for improved academic standards.

Mr. Antwi urged the School Management Committee (SMC) and the executives of the Parent/Teachers Association (PTA) to visit the school regularly to know the challenges facing the teachers and students for redress.
