The Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana, has urged security forces to take swift action in response to a series of brutal killings in the Bole area.
The call to action was made following the discovery of a dismembered body in a local school, which has left the community on edge.
The body, believed to be that of a middle-aged man, was found with his head and manhood chopped off.
In a separate but related incident, another body was found in a septic tank, leading to heightened fear among residents.
This fear has prompted the community to enforce a self-imposed curfew as they seek to protect themselves from the ongoing threat.
Addressing the issue in an interview with JoyNews, Yusif Sulemana called on the security forces to take action to prevent an escalation of the situation.
“All hands must be on deck so that we are able to resolve it. Let’s not forget that today is Bole, tomorrow is Wa, the next time is Accra and the next time is other places in this country.
"So I think that the military, the police and those who have what it takes to be able to nip this situation should do it and do it fast so that it doesn’t escalate and create more problems for us,” he said.
He stated that the residents are currently calm because the body has not been identified as a victim of Bole but stressed the need for rapid intervention by law enforcement to prevent further violence.
“It is when the person is killed and identified to be native. That is where sometimes you have the tension. But for me, it doesn’t matter whether the person is a native or a stranger. What is happening is unnecessary, what is happening is cruel, what is happening is unacceptable,” he said.
