Bolgatanga Central MP builds new projects

Mr Akolbire Emmanuel Opam Brown, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central, has rolled out some projects to bring about development in the constituency.

Key among the projects include a-45 seater capacity Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Centre for the Bolgatanga-Soe primary school.

The MP is also building a Library Complex for the Akatoome Junior High School to serve the cluster of schools in the area.

He inspected some of the projects and stated that education was a major tool that could help accelerate the development of the area, saying, that explained why he had over the years focused much attention in the sector.

Mr Akolbire mentioned that since he assumed office in 2009, he had secured funding from the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) to construct 15 basic schools in the constituency and also provided support to 350 students.

The MP received a rousing welcome at the Yorogo Community when he visited the area to inspect the de-silting of two dams he initiated in the area.

According to him, he had de-silted more than six dams, which he learnt had contributed to the improvement of livelihoods of the people and also curbed rural urban migration.

On health, the MP through his Common Fund, had also constructed two Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compounds, which he noted had helped improve upon the accessibility of health service delivery.

The MP gave the assurance that plans were far advanced to put up a security lighting system at Dagweon, and appealed to the people to renew his mandate, assuring them that he had plans to initiate a lot of development projects in the constituency.
