Bolgatanga Girls Senior High School (SHS) in the Upper East Region on Thursday emerged the winner in the Northern Sector Zonal quiz competition organised by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
Mr Foster Adjei Korang, Brong Ahafo Regional Manager of the NHIA, said the quiz which was part of Scheme’s 10th anniversary celebration, was aimed at educating all subscribers, especially the youth to know more about the activities of the Scheme.
He urged the general public to register as members of the Scheme to safeguard their health.
Five SHSs consisting of Bolgatanga Girls, Upper East Region, St. Francis Girls, Upper West Region, Tamale SHS, Northern Region, Kumasi Anglican SHS, Ashanti Region and Sunyani SHS in Brong-Ahafo Region participated in the event.
Bolgatanga girls at the end of round four had 37 points to emerge the winner, followed by St Francis Girls,36 points, Kumasi Anglican,33 points, Tamale SHS,15 points and Sunyani SHS took the fifth position.
All the five schools were rewarded with 200 exercise books each for their regions whilst the first to fourth schools were in addition given GH¢700.00, GH¢500.00, GH¢300.00 and GH¢200.00 respectively.
The first two schools are to represent the Northern Sector in the national and final Competition slated for Accra at a later date.
Mr Dan Afari Yeboah, a legal practitioner, was the quiz Master.
