The President of Organization of Trade Union of West Africa (OTUWA) Mr. Alex Bonney, has said he believed Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) concept with entrepreneurship were workable solutions to the challenges of the country’s development and growth.
“I hope all progressive minded persons will not hesitate to endorse and encourage the youth to acquire greater skills in entrepreneurship through technical vocational scheme to become productive in the society,” he said.
Mr. Bonney, a former Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, (TUC), said this at the launch of a book entitled “A Motivation for Entrepreneurship” at Winneba.
The book is to assist technical/vocational trainees to understand the application of entrepreneurship concept alongside their professional studies.
Mr. Bonney said there was the need for people to fully embrace TVET concept by taking bold decision, initiative and purposeful risk in venturing into TVET either in basic for senior high schools.
Mr. Ampah-Donkor, the author of the book, said the book was developed according to the National Vocation Training Institute’s syllabus as well as Technical Examinations requirement of Ghana Education Service.
He said he hoped the book would provide the basic drive for self-innovativeness and to have impact to develop the confidence in transforming entrepreneurial practice.
