The Member of Parliament for Bosome-Freho Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Hon. Akwasi Darko Boateng, has commissioned a new Police station at Morontuo Electoral Area.
In an effort to enhance security and fulfill a longstanding promise, MP Akwasi Darko Boateng has commissioned a police station in Morontuo, addressing the community's need for an official state institution to ensure adequate protection and safeguard residents' well-being.
The Police Station, constructed by the MP with support from the Bosome Freho District Assembly, chiefs, and other stakeholders, has been handed over to the Ghana Police Service.
Speaking at a brief ceremony to hand over the station to the police on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Hon. Akwasi Darko Boateng said the presence of police will deter criminals from tormenting residents. He noted that police in the area will help provide adequate security to residents.
He commended all stakeholders who supported the project, expressing his gratitude for making the project a success.
He pledged his continuous support to the development of the constituency, adding that he will always be available when the residents call on him for support.
The Ashanti South Regional Police Commander, DCOP George Ankomah, praised the MP for the initiative. He assured the residents of police commitment to protecting them. He noted that the Ghana Police Service will provide personnel and equipment to aid their work in the community successfully.
He, however, urged the residents to collaborate with the service for effective policing.
