The body of the deceased is yet to be recovered.
Confirming the incident to Starr News’ Western regional correspondent Emmanuel Ohene Gyan, the acting President of the Western regional House of chiefs Nana Kwesi Agyemang said the accident was triggered by a heavy rainstorm.
“Two canoes returning from sea capsized. In the first one nobody died, in the second one, one person died and the body is yet to be recovered. The incident was caused by a massive rainstorm. During this period of the year, the rough nature of the sea causes some of these incidents. The victim went with a crew and they were about six,” he said.
