Brahabebome (W/R), July 17, GNA- Mr. Hector Amoa-Darkwah, Wassa West District Coordinating Director (DCD), on Thursday inaugurated a 33-million dollar community centre for Brahabebome near Tarkwa. The project was funded by Goldfields Ghana Limited (GGL), a gold mining company at Tarkwa, as part of its social responsibility programme for communities within its operational area.
He commended GGL for committing large sums of money to supplement the district assembly's efforts to provide infrastructure in many communities.
Mr. Amoa-Darkwah said the decentralisation policy of the Government is aimed at grassroots participation of the people in the administration and planning programmes.
He advised the people to take good care of the facility and maintain it regularly.
Mr. Johan Botha, General Manager of GGL said the company would continue to honour its promise to commit part of its earnings in improving the lives of the people.
Nana Kwesi Ansah, Odikro of Brahabebome thanked the management of GGL for the gesture and called on GGL and other institutions to do more to improve the lives of the people.
