British-based Philanthropist donates to Tamale Rehabilitation Centre

Tamale, Feb. 23, GNA- A British Philanthropist with Asian origin, Dr Omar Ebrahimsa had donated an unspecified amount of money for the upkeep of 26 inmates at the Tamale Rehabilitation Centre. Dr Ebrahimsa, who is also a medical doctor, made the donation through Northern Ghana Aid (NOGAID) and Muslim AID, two non-governmental organisations (NGO's).

The inmates who are afflicted by various forms of physical disabilities smiled as they queued to accept their gifts. Mr Atchulo Inusah, Manager of the Centre commended the philanthropist and the NGO's for the kind gesture and appealed to other public- spirited individuals and organisations to emulate the example since government alone could not cater for all the needs of the inmates. "Disability is no respecter of persons," he said, adding society must not shun people with disabilities.

Mr Moses Ndego, acting Chief Executive Officer of NOGAID also expressed gratitude to Dr Ebrahimsa for his continuous support to the organisation.
