CLOGSAG Executive Secretary honoured

Mr Isaac Bampoe, Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has been awarded an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree for exemplary leadership on the labour front.

He was awarded the degree by the Technological University of the Americas (TUA), which focuses on providing world-class distance education in Technology Engineering and Business Management.

Professor Hubert Rampersted, President of TUA, said with the likes of Mr Bampoe Addo, CLOGSAG can blossom into a fully-fledged union that can stand the test of time.

He said Mr Bampoe Addo is a dynamic and proactive person, who has the vision, integrity and compassion, and had worked assiduously to make the union a force to reckon.

The ceremony preceded a seminar on Authentic Governance for members of the union to shape their thinking and help them identify their dreams and passions.

Mr Bampoe said Ghana is a beautiful country with smart people, adding that, the Authentic Governance programme provides tools necessary for change.

The corporate environment, he said, was full of mistrust, adding that, the world was losing billions of dollars due to the attitude of unhappy workers across the globe.

Prof Rampersted urged Ghanaians to strive to be leaders and take up the responsibility of making a difference wherever they find themselves.

Dr Robert Dodoo, Chairman of the Civil Service Council, also lauded the exemplary role of Mr Bampoe Addo, who had led the CLOGSAG to greater heights.

“Under his leadership CLOGSAG has not followed the crowd to agitate but have done so only when it was very necessary”.

Gum Naaba Alhaji Assibi-Asongo I, President of CLOGSAG, said with hard working and dedicated people like the Executive Secretary, the union’s future looked promising, adding that, he was not only serving CLOGSAG but the entire labour front.

Nana Agyekum Gyamera, Head of the Civil Service, extolled Mr Bampoe’s leadership style, saying he has been rewarded accordingly.

He urged members of CLOGSAG to be time conscious and put into practice the lessons learnt from the authentic leadership seminar.

Mr Bampoe Addo said he was humbled by the honour done him, noting that, this has given him the impetus to strive for greater heights.

“This honour done me is an honour to CLOGSAG” he said.
