Calm returns to Walewale after attack on jubilant NDC supporters

Calm has returned to Walewale in the Northern region after alleged attacks on some jubilant supporters of the ruling party.

The incident occurred as the supporters celebrated the party’s victory in the Kperiga neighbourhood where the family of the main opposition party’s vice Presidential candidate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia lives.

According to the NDC Director of Communication for Walewale, Issah Abdulahi an NPP mob attacked their vehicle and injured some of the supporters.

But in an interview with XYZ News he said the area is now calm everything is normal.

A member of the Communication team of the main opposition NPP in the Walewale Constituency Arimeyaw Ishaaq however denied the allegation that jubilant NDC supporters were attacked.

He said the NDC supporters were over jubilating and intimidating Dr Bawumia’s Family.

“They went there and the mother was there with the family and they even displayed guns in the house of Bawumia and people had to intervene because they can’t go to that extent”

Meanwhile, a number of NPP supporters who were arrested following the fracas have since been released.
