Carpenter donates 20 dual desks to school

Kade (E/R), Sept. 15, GNA- A carpenter at Kade, Mr Richmond Eshun, has presented 20 dual desks worth 4.8 million cedis to the Kwaebibirem District Assembly as his contribution towards the improvement of education in the district. The desks were received by Mr K. Amankwaah, the District Co-ordinating Director and he handed them over to Miss Ophelia Ampadu, an Assistant Director of Education, on behalf of the District Education Directorate. All the 20 desks were given to the Methodist Junior Secondary School (JSS).

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Eshun said he was motivated by efforts being made by President J.A. Kufuor and his government to improve the quality of education at all levels. He, therefore, called on individuals and organizations in the area to support the efforts of the government by donating materials such as desks, books, teaching and learning aids and cash towards the improvement of education.

Mr Amankwaah on behalf of the District Assembly thanked Mr Eshun for his patriotism and hoped others would emulate him. Miss Ampadu said the District Education Directorate was very grateful to Mr Eshun.
