Accra, Nov. 17, GNA - The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the Accra Arch Diocese would hold a two day open air crusade from November 26 to November 27 2004 at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle to preach the good news of Christ to Ghanaians to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for a free and fair Election 2004.
Mr Charles Antwi Konadu, Accra Archdiocesan Coordinator of the Renewal, urged politicians at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday to seek divine guidance in their electioneering campaigns. "The word of God has the capacity to instruct, direct and equip politicians for good works. It gives love, peace and understanding for nation building," he said.
He appealed to politicians, social commentators and phone-in callers to desist from the use of inflammatory language and pronouncements that inflamed passions.
Mr Konadu said the negative trend was causing anxiety and unnecessary tension among the citizenry adding that such remarks would not help to move the nation forward in its development. He said no nation could succeed without having God directing the affairs of its leadership.
He said during the crusade there would be a special period of intercession for people to confess their sins and pray for transparency, accountability and peaceful co-existence among Ghanaians.
Mr Emmanuel Dzeble, Chairman of the Crusade Committee, said politicians should live exemplary lives like David in the Bible, who relied on God to rule the people.
