Chief urges his people to invest in education

Baamiri (B/A), Sept 03, GNA - Nana Obiri Yeboah-Kokroko 11, chief of Baamiri near Techiman, has said the community would launch an education endowment fund to support brilliant but needy pupils to pursue higher education.

He said he would support the fund with part of stool land proceeds to encourage more youth to further their education Nana Yeboah-Kokroko, who was addressing the people at the celebration of their Annual Munufie yam festival, advised parents in the area to invest their resources in the education of their children to guarantee them good future.

He expressed his displeasure at some youth taking to the streets instead of schooling and condemned their neglect by parents. Mr Joseph Kwasi Kwao, the Assembly Member, urged the electorate to bury their political differences and unite to initiate development projects.

He advised them to be disciplined and to comport themselves before, during and after the December general elections. Nana Yaa Gyapomaa, the queen mother, called on parents to send their girls to school and not to encourage them to enter into early marriages as the practice had affected the education of many promising women in the area.
