Chiefs commend government

Adeiso (E/R), March 15, GNA - Two chiefs have commended the government for the construction of a three unit classroom blocks with office store and a common room for two separate farming communities near Adeiso in the West Akim District. The chiefs and the communities are Nana Agyei Yaw, II of Sukrong Badu and Nana Akrofi Cannan of Sukrong Cannan.

Conducting the GNA, chiefs, opinion leaders and the school managements committees of the twin towns round to inspect the project, Nana Agyirkwa Agyei Assemblyman for the area said, so far the European Union had spent 120 million cedis on the construction of a three-unit classroom, office store and a common room to replace a dilapidated three classroom at Sukron Cannan.

Others are three-unit classroom block office store and common at Sukron-Budu put up with the government HPIC funds at the cost of about 200 million cedis.

Nana Agyei thanked Mr Mark Amoah the District Chief Executive of West Akim for organising such valuable projects, which would enhance good teaching and learning to assist school children who were hitherto taking classes under trees and sheds in the area.

Nana Agyei Yaw of Sukron Badu and Nana Akrofi Cannan appealed to the Department of Feeder Roads to rehabilitate a ten-kilometres road from Domponiase-Domeabra to link the main Adeiso-Accra road to facilitate the carting of farm produce to the buying centres.
