Chiefs demand swift justice for murdered linguist as he goes home

The Chiefs and people of Abura Dunkwa in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese District in the Central Region have called on the regional police Command to expedite action to bring to book perpetrators behind the assassination of their Chief linguist, Okyeame Kojo Mensah and wife to book.

Speaking to Kweku Bee Abrante on the sidelines of the burial service of the Chief linguist and wife at their burial grounds in Abura Dunkwa, Spokesperson for the Chiefs, Nana Afransi II, Abura Dunkwa Obaatan
alleged that, notwithstanding the dictates of the law, however, it defied logic to learn that the sole prime suspect of the case, one Ali Baba Munsro had been granted a court bail though pending further investigation, they anticipated the due process would be followed to serve them with justice.

"Now that the said prime suspect, Ali Baaba Munsro has been granted on a bail by Court", he said adding that "we will follow every twist and turn of the proceedings to ensure that justice prevails".

The three-day grand funeral which began from Thursday through to Saturday brought together several sympathizers from far and near including Naananom and Ebusumpayimfo from the vicinity who took turns to pay their departed merit last respect amidst tears and uncontrollable sobs mostly from women and close relatives.

Nana Obaatan Afransi II bemoaned the incessant reportedly killings in the country and charged the security agencies to lace their boot and tackle the situation with urgency attention it deserves before the civilians would throw their despair as a result of loss of confidence in our security apparatus.

He thus urged the government to review its note concerning state of security of the nation in order to ensure peacefulness in the country.



Nana Obaatan Afransi II seized the opportunity to extend a warm invitation to all citizens of Abura Dunkwa who are resident abroad to come home and support development programmes earmarked for the facelift of the town.

Nana Obaatan Afransi II further commended the new Odikro, Nana Asokwa Kwegyir II for his insight and efforts at improving the restoring the dignity of Abura Dunkwa given the recent mishaps that befell hitherto a peaceful town and asked the people to compliment such noble course.

It would be recalled that the Abura Dunkwa town was thrown into state of shock and mourning following the gruesome murder of the Chief linguist, Okyeame Kojo Mensah and his wife by some unknown assailants on Sunday September, 2018.
