Kuntanase (Ash), April 6, GNA- Traditional rulers have been asked to release land to the youth for agricultural purposes as practical commitment in creating jobs in their localities.
Mr Daniel Asuo Afram, Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), said chiefs had the moral duty to offer employment to their subjects. Mr Afram who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at Kuntanase on Tuesday lauded the initiative of the chiefs of Brodekwano and Eduabin in releasing 10 acres of land to the youth for farming.
"The success of the groups in terms of income accruing from their farming activities is spurring us on to dialogue with other chiefs for land for the youth to go into farming", he said.
Mr Afram said NADMO had put in place the mechanism to market the food produce of the youth groups.
