Nana Adwoa Pinamang, Queen of Asante-Bekwai, has called for closer cooperation between parents and school authorities to check errant behaviour of students.
She said the school authorities should be given every necessary support to instil discipline and good moral values in the young ones.
It is through this that the nation could be assured of responsible and law-abiding future leaders ready to spearhead socio-economic and political development.
Nana Pinamang was speaking at a farewell ceremony organized for final year students of the Bekwai SDA Senior High School (SHS) at Asante-Bekwai.
It was organized to assist and prepare the 534 students, who had just completed their four-year SHS education, to deal with challenges they are likely to be confronted with as they come out of school.
She noted that the difficulties many of the young people go through are the product of improper upbringing, lack of parental care and inadequate protection.
They are forced to depend on the advice of their peers and become vulnerable to all manner of social evils.
Nana Pinamang urged the students to ensure that, they always act within the rules of acceptable social behaviour and show respect to the elderly and those in authority.
Mrs Mercy Adu-Tiwaah, the Headmistress of the school, praised the students for their hard work and discipline through-out their four-year stay in school.
This she said, has been in keeping with the school’s tradition of churning out God-fearing students.**
