Christians asked to make resurrection of Jesus meaningful

Cape Coast, April 12, GNA - Elder Dan Markin of the Church of Christ Accra, on Sunday said the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by Christians will be meaningless unless they follow his teachings and life.

He said Christ died as a sacrificial lamb to save humankind and asked Christians to be honest, truthful, loving and compassionate, virtues that Jesus demonstrated.

Elder Markin was delivering a sermon under the theme "Your Future in this present decaying world, consider your stand" to over 5,000 members of the Church at its national annual Easter Convention at Cape Coast on Easter Sunday.

He urged Ghanaians to support the Government to develop the country and said the pace of national development should not be left in the hands of politicians alone.

Elder Markin also asked Ghanaians to take their destiny into their own hands and said foreigners could not develop the country better. Earlier, 57 members of the church were ordained as deacons by Senior Pastor, Stephen Tawia, chairman of the Cape Coast branch of the church who also led the congregation to prayer for the nation.
