Accra, April 24, GNA - Rev Dr Livingston Komla Boamah, the Moderator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, on Sunday called on Christians to desist from archaic and conservative lifestyles and rather be proactive in all fields of human endeavour.
He said, "We need to move forward with outmost courage as well as strive to chart new frontiers to the benefit of mankind". Rev Boamah made the call when he delivered a sermon on theme: 'Breaking New Ground' at the end of the West Volta Presbytery 31st Annual Conference in Accra.
The conference is a gathering of members of the local council of the church who meet annually to discuss the progress and failures of the church and find new ways of moving it forward.
He said the church was endowed with all the resources required to meet the challenges of the times and urged the members to stop the attitude of complaining and to face countenance every situation, relying on the strength of God.
''As Christians, let us learn to focus on the Lord at all times since he is in the position of power and authority".
Rev Boamah also asked the church to cultivate the habit of forgiveness saying ''it is a balm that heals all wounds.'' He reminded Christians to exhibit behaviours that portrayed the image and the righteousness of Christ so that by so doing, they would draw others to the Lord.
